Gonna.surf is now fully free

All premium features are now available to everyone, free of charge. At the same time, sponsorships are closed. Gonna.surf is becoming a non-commercial project - and honestly, that feels right.

Earlier this year I started a full-time job that doesn't allow side-business activity. Rather than scale things back or put the project on hold, I took the opportunity to open everything up. No subscriptions, no sponsored slots - just the forecast.

Removing the commercial side also removes a kind of background pressure that comes with it: the need to justify features in terms of revenue, to think about conversion, to find ways to monetize. I'm glad to be rid of that. It means I can focus entirely on making gonna.surf better, on my own terms and at my own pace.

I want to thank everyone who signed up for premium over the past months, and those who sent kind words along the way. Building something people actually find useful - and hearing about it - makes the effort feel worthwhile.

There's still plenty I want to do: sharper forecasts, a better reading experience, a few ideas I've been sitting on for a while. No deadlines, no pressure. Just good waves ahead.
